Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor the performance and health of network systems using network monitoring tools and dashboards.
• Respond to alerts and incidents, ensuring network issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
• Perform first-line troubleshooting for network outages, performance degradation, and other technical issues.
• Work with senior engineers to escalate complex issues and ensure quick resolution.
• Assist in the maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices.
• Provide support for scheduled maintenance activities such as software upgrades and patching.
• Document network incidents, issues, and resolutions, ensuring accurate record-keeping for future reference.
• Perform routine network performance checks and provide reports on network health and capacity.
• Assist in network configuration and deployment tasks as needed.
• Help maintain network security by monitoring for potential security threats or vulnerabilities.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of network operations and incident response procedures.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and vendors to resolve network-related issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Basic understanding of networking principles and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
• Familiarity with networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and network monitoring tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Dutch is a plus).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document technical procedures.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the network operations field.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
• Basic knowledge of network security best practices (e.g., firewalls, VPNs).
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are a plus but not required.
