Key Responsibilities:
Conduct accessibility audits and evaluations of websites, web applications, and digital content.
Collaborate with designers and developers to implement accessible design and coding practices.
Provide guidance and training to teams on accessibility standards and best practices.
Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA, Section 508, and other relevant accessibility standards.
Test digital products using assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, keyboard navigation).
Create and maintain accessibility documentation, including VPATs (Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates).
Advocate for accessibility improvements and inclusive design across the organization.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and regulations in web accessibility.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Design, UX/UI Design, or related field
Experience:
3+ years of professional experience in web accessibility or a related field.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA, and Section 508 standards.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications).
Experience with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse).
Familiarity with assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver).
Knowledge of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to educate and advocate for accessibility across teams.
Attention to detail and a commitment to creating inclusive digital experiences.
Bonus:
Certification in web accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS) or experience with UX/UI design is a plus.
